**PRAGUE** – Several Ajax Amsterdam fans were detained by Czech police on Thursday after attempting to force their way into Slavia Prague’s Eden Park stadium without tickets ahead of their Europa League match.

Police, clad in riot gear, were forced to use “coercive measures” to control the situation. Earlier, hundreds of Ajax supporters had gathered in Prague’s Old Town Square, where authorities discovered knives, baseball bats and batons left behind.

Prior to and after the match, hundreds of police officers were deployed throughout the city to maintain order.
