Thu Oct 03 15:00:09 UTC 2024: ## Kent Cricketers Selected for England Women’s U19 World Cup Squad

Two promising young cricketers from Kent, Tilly Corteen-Coleman and Jemima Spence, have been selected for the England Women’s U19 squad for the ICC Women’s U19 World Cup 2025 in Malaysia. This follows Corteen-Coleman’s impressive performances in The Hundred this year, playing for Southern Brave. Davina Perrin, who participated in the 2023 World Cup, is also included in the squad.

The tournament, taking place from January 18th to February 2nd, will see 16 teams compete in 41 matches across 15 days. This will be Malaysia’s first appearance in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup and Samoa’s first appearance in an ICC World Cup event.

England, placed in Group B, will face Ireland, Pakistan, and the USA in Johor. The team aims to build upon their runner-up finish in the inaugural tournament in South Africa last year, where they were defeated by India in a thrilling final.

Five non-traveling reserves have also been selected: Maria Andrews, Sophie Beech, Daisy Gibb, Poppy Tulloch, and Annie Williams. These players will participate fully in the preparation phase and act as stand-by players in case of any replacements being required.

Meanwhile, Kent Cricket continues its commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), implementing its own EDI Policy and Action Plan to complement the ECB’s efforts to improve the EDI landscape across cricket in the county.
