**Rome, Italy** – The global drag scene is heating up as 12 drag queens from different countries compete in **RuPaul’s Drag Race Global All Stars**, a new reality show premiering on Paramount+. The show, which is like a “drag Olympics,” features a series of challenges where the queens showcase their artistry, creativity, and resilience.

Representing Italy is Nehellenia, a drag queen played by Emanuele Aruta. Aruta’s drag journey began with a simple dare in a bar. “I was a bit cocky,” he explains, “I said, ‘I could do better.’ My friends challenged me, I entered a competition, and that’s how my career started.”

Aruta’s journey led him to the second season of Italy’s Drag Race and eventually to the international stage. He describes representing his country as an “honor and a responsibility,” going as far as to wake up two hours early every day to study English.

The show’s intense competition and the “death-before-dishonor” attitude among American queens took Aruta by surprise. “It’s not something that’s part of our Italian culture,” he admits, “but it was stimulating. I rolled up my sleeves and tried to show that kindness and courage can get you through anything.”

Nehellenia highlights the show’s influence on the queer community, stating, “12 years ago, we were seen as problematic. Now, we’ve educated people about drag as an art form.”
