Berlin-based DJ and producer Maze is returning to Permanent Vacation Records with a new EP titled “Morning Magic.” This collection of grounding house gems draws inspiration from the vibrant energy of sober dancefloors, where Maze has honed her unique approach to music.

“Morning Magic” features four original tracks ranging from loopy prog and dub to Chicago-inspired house, and includes a bonus “Trip Dazed Mix” by London duo The Trip. The title track, released today, showcases Maze’s signature sound, blending twinkling keys and xylophone trills with a driving house beat.

Maze explains that her music reflects the deep connection she experiences at sober dance parties like Berlin’s Dose of Pleasure and Pyramid. “It’s not about being sober, but about making a deeper connection,” she says. “Everyone is super present – people are at one with their bodies and minds – and you’re present with them.”

This new release marks a departure from the typical high-impact trends in electronic music. Maze emphasizes the power of subtlety, saying, “This release is poignant to me right now because it’s all about subtlety… Whoever said you can connect with the universe in 30 seconds, anyway?”

“Morning Magic” follows Maze’s successful debut on Permanent Vacation with the track “Planet Rapture,” featured on the label’s 2023 V/A compilation. This new EP promises to be another captivating offering from the talented Berlin-based artist.
