Mahindra’s highly anticipated off-roader, the Thar Roxx, has officially launched in India, and the response has been overwhelming. Within a single hour of opening bookings, the company received a staggering 176,218 orders.
The bookings opened yesterday at 11 am, and by noon, Mahindra was inundated with requests. The Thar Roxx is priced competitively, starting at Rs 21,000 for the booking amount. Test drives are now available across India, and the first unit was auctioned off for a record Rs 1.31 crore.
Deliveries for the Thar Roxx are expected to begin during Dusserra, in the coming weeks. The SUV is available in six variants – MX1, MX3, MX5, AX3L, AX5L, and AX7L – with petrol, diesel, and 4WD options. Power comes from a choice of 2.0-liter turbo petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines, paired with manual or automatic transmissions. The 4×4 option is only available with the diesel engine.
