**Bhopal, India -** Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 155th birth anniversary and to Lal Bahadur Shastri on his 120th birth anniversary on Wednesday.
CM Yadav laid floral tributes to statues of both leaders in Bhopal. He lauded Gandhi’s commitment to truth, non-violence, and service, calling him an exemplary figure for humanity and peace. He also praised Shastri’s simplicity, strong will, and honesty, particularly emphasizing his contribution to the nation with the “Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan” slogan, which boosted national morale.
Yadav further highlighted Shastri’s ability to achieve great heights despite coming from humble beginnings and commended his continued simplicity even at the highest level of government.
In addition to honoring these historical figures, the Chief Minister commended Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his work in advancing progress across all sectors and areas. He praised Modi for spreading a message of peace amid regional instability, solidifying India’s reputation and continuing the country’s rich tradition.
The event coincided with various other tributes to Mahatma Gandhi across India, including those from Congress leaders, the Uttarakhand Chief Secretary, and the Jamia Millia Islamia University.
