Chennai, India – Veteran actor Rajinikanth underwent a successful non-surgical procedure on Tuesday to address a swelling in the main blood vessel leading to his heart. A stent was placed to seal off the swelling, according to a medical bulletin from Apollo Hospitals.

The actor is currently stable and doing well, and is expected to be discharged in two days, the hospital confirmed.

“We would like to let his well-wishers and fans know that the procedure went as planned,” said Dr. R.K. Venkatasalam, Director of Medical Services at Apollo Hospitals. “Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and is doing well. He should be at home in two days.”

Fellow actor and friend Kamal Haasan took to X (formerly Twitter) to wish Rajinikanth a speedy recovery, stating “I wish my dear friend, Superstar @rajinikanth, who is hospitalized, a speedy recovery.”

Numerous other prominent figures have also expressed their well wishes, including Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. Ravi, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, and Health Minister Ma Subramanian.

Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film “Vettaiyan,” directed by TJ Gnanavel, is scheduled to release on October 10th. The star-studded cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, and Dushara Vijayan.

Following “Vettaiyan,” Rajinikanth is set to star in “Coolie,” which is slated for a 2025 release.
