**Chengalpattu, October 1, 2024:** All TASMAC liquor shops and bars in Chengalpattu district will remain closed on October 2nd, 2024, in observance of Gandhi Jayanti, announced District Collector Arunraj.
In a statement issued by the Collector, it was stated that the closure includes all retail liquor shops and bars within the district. The Collector warned that any shop or bar found open or engaging in illegal liquor sales on this day would be subject to strict legal action.
This measure is being implemented in line with the government’s decision to observe the national holiday.
