Sun Sep 29 19:27:20 UTC 2024: ## Young Cricketer Musheer Khan Recovers From Car Accident, Expresses Gratitude

**Lucknow, India:** Young Mumbai all-rounder Musheer Khan, who survived a serious car accident while on his way to the Irani Cup, has expressed his gratitude to everyone who prayed for his recovery. The right-handed batter and left-arm spinner suffered a neck fracture in the accident and will be sidelined for several months.

The accident occurred while Khan, traveling with his father Naushad, was en route to Lucknow from his hometown Azamgarh for the Irani Cup match against Rest of India. Their car hit a divider and flipped multiple times.

“First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me, he is also fine now. I would like to thank you all for your prayers,” said Khan in a video posted on his Instagram account, where he is seen wearing a neck brace.

Khan, the younger brother of Test batter Sarfaraz Khan, was expected to be included in the India A tour of Australia later this year. This injury comes as a major setback for the promising cricketer, who recently scored an impressive 181 for India B against India A in the Duleep Trophy.

“Good evening, first of all, I would like to thank the Almighty for this new life. I would also like to thank all those people who have prayed for us – well-wishers, friends, relatives. I am very thankful of all of them,” said Naushad Khan in the same video. He also expressed gratitude towards the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and the BCCI for their support.

Khan will be taken to a hospital in Mumbai for a detailed assessment once he is discharged from Medanta Hospital in Lucknow. The MCA is yet to announce a replacement for Khan, India’s leading run-getter in this year’s U19 World Cup, in the Irani Cup squad led by Ajinkya Rahane.
