Sun Sep 29 10:44:52 UTC 2024: ## Team India Aims for Historic WTC Triumph

**Chennai:** With the Test Championship trophy eluding them in the previous two editions, Team India is determined to secure the coveted title this time around. Their recent performance suggests that they are well on their way to achieving this goal, with a strong chance of making it to their third consecutive final.

India’s dominance in the championship is evident in their consistent performance, which has seen them secure the top spot in the standings. Their recent triumph over Bangladesh in the first Test has further cemented their position. Prior to the match, India had a win percentage of 68.5, which jumped to 71.67 after their convincing 280-run victory. This victory earned them 12 WTC points.

While Australia currently sits second with a win percentage of 62.50, even a draw or a defeat against Bangladesh, who are ranked lower, would have caused India’s win percentage to decrease. The recent victory for Sri Lanka over New Zealand in their Test series has seen them climb to third place, with their win percentage increasing from 42.9 to 50. Meanwhile, New Zealand’s win percentage has dipped from 50 to 42.86.

Bangladesh, who had climbed to fourth place with a 45.8 win percentage after their clean sweep against Pakistan, have fallen to sixth after losing the first Test to India. Their win percentage has dropped to 39.29.

With their sights firmly set on the Test Championship title, Team India will be looking to maintain their current momentum and continue their impressive form in the upcoming matches.
