**CHANDIGARH, Sep 28:** Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been diagnosed with leptospirosis, a bacterial infection, and is currently receiving antibiotic treatment at Fortis Hospital Mohali.

The 50-year-old Aam Aadmi Party leader was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday for a routine checkup. According to a hospital bulletin, his blood tests confirmed the diagnosis after initial suspicion of tropical fever. Despite the infection, the Chief Minister’s vital signs remain stable and he is showing positive improvement following antibiotic treatment.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease that can affect both humans and animals. Humans can contract the infection through direct contact with infected animal urine or contaminated environments. The bacteria can enter the body through cuts, abrasions, or mucous membranes.

The Chief Minister is expected to make a full recovery following his treatment.
