Sun Sep 29 14:56:05 UTC 2024: ## Girona Aim for Victory Against Celta Vigo to End Winless Streak

Girona will be looking to end their four-game winless run in all competitions when they travel to Celta Vigo on Sunday afternoon for their La Liga clash.

Despite finishing third in La Liga last season, Girona currently sit in 12th place with eight points from seven matches. Celta Vigo, on the other hand, are in 10th place after a disappointing run of form that saw them lose their last two matches.

While Celta Vigo’s recent performances have been disappointing, they have shown offensive prowess this season, scoring 14 goals, second only to Barcelona and Real Madrid. However, their defense has struggled, conceding 14 goals, the joint-second worst in the league.

Girona, meanwhile, have also had a difficult start to the season, failing to replicate their impressive form from last year. They are winless in their last four matches, including a 1-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League debut.

Despite their struggles, Girona still pose a threat, with striker Cristhian Stuani expected to return to the starting lineup. Celta Vigo, on the other hand, will be without the services of Oscar Mingueza, Mihailo Ristic and Luca de la Torre due to injury.

The two sides played out a 1-1 draw in Vigo last May, but Girona won both league matches against Celta Vigo last season. The match promises to be a tight affair, but Girona are tipped to secure a vital three points.
