Mumbai cricketer Musheer Khan, younger brother of Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan, is recovering well after a serious road accident on September 28. The incident occurred on the Purvanchal Expressway near Lucknow when Musheer and his father, Naushad, were en route to the city for the upcoming Irani Cup match. Their car collided with a divider and overturned, leaving Musheer with a neck fracture and his father with minor injuries.
Both were rushed to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow, where they received immediate medical attention. In a video shared by Sarfaraz Khan on his Instagram story, Musheer and his father expressed their gratitude to the almighty and well-wishers for their support.
“We thank everyone, including our relatives, fans, and well-wishers,” said Naushad in the video. “We also want to thank the MCA and BCCI for taking care of Musheer. We are grateful for what we have, and we will wait for what we haven’t got.”
Musheer also echoed his father’s sentiments, expressing relief at being alive and thanking everyone for their prayers.
The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has confirmed that Musheer is in stable condition and is being monitored by their medical team. He is expected to be flown to Mumbai for further evaluation once he is fit to travel.
The accident has unfortunately sidelined Musheer for at least three months, causing him to miss the upcoming Irani Cup, which begins on October 1. He had a strong start to the domestic season, scoring a century for India B in the Duleep Trophy and playing a crucial role in Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy victory earlier this year.
Despite the setback, Musheer’s positive outlook and the support from his family, fans, and the cricketing community will undoubtedly aid in his recovery.
