**Lucknow, India:** Rising Indian batsman Musheer Khan, brother of Test star Sarfaraz Khan, will be sidelined from cricket for at least three months after a serious road accident.

The 19-year-old, who was due to play for the Ranji champions in the Irani Cup starting October 1st in Lucknow, suffered a neck fracture when his car collided with a divider and overturned on his way from Azamgarh to Lucknow. While the accident was severe, Musheer escaped without further injuries.

Currently, Musheer is hospitalized in Lucknow and is said to be stable, conscious, and well-oriented. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) medical teams are monitoring his progress and will ensure he receives the best possible care. Once medically fit, he will be transported to Mumbai for further evaluation and treatment.

This accident is a significant blow to Musheer, who had been making impressive strides in professional cricket. His recent performance in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored a stunning 181 for India B against India A, solidified his position as a rising talent. He was also being considered for the India A team’s upcoming tour of Australia.

Musheer, who averages over 50 in nine first-class matches for Mumbai, had impressed with three centuries and a half-century since his debut in 2022. Notably, he scored centuries in his debut Ranji Trophy and Duleep Trophy matches, showcasing his potential and talent. His impressive form in the U19 World Cup, where he was India’s highest run-scorer, further solidified his promising future.
