England’s Harry Brook has declared his return to form was inevitable after his match-winning 87 propelled England to a dominant victory in the 4th ODI against Australia, leveling the series at 2-2.
Brook’s innings followed a century in the previous match, marking a significant turning point in the series for England. He attributed his recent success to a culmination of consistent effort, stating, “I feel like I’ve been playing well all summer, everything just needed to click.”
The match, reduced to 39 overs due to rain, saw England post a formidable 312 runs. Australia, in response, were bowled out for a paltry 126 runs in just 25 overs, highlighting the dominance of the English bowling attack.
Brook praised the bowlers, particularly stand-in skipper Jofra Archer, who claimed crucial wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell. “They bowled beautifully,” Brook said. “On an interesting wicket, we got a few too many over par but they bowled beautifully, they smashed the lengths beautifully and they got the rewards.”
The series now heads to its final match on Sunday, September 29, where both teams will be vying for the series win.
