**Hyderabad:** Junior NTR’s highly anticipated film “Devara – Part 1” opened to phenomenal success on Friday, breaking box office records with an astounding ₹82.5 crore collection in India. The film’s initial performance surpassed the opening day collections of blockbusters like Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan” and Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal”. However, the film’s momentum appears to have faltered, with a significant drop in earnings on Saturday.
According to Sacnilk reports, “Devara” collected ₹40 crore on its second day, marking a 50% decline from its opening day earnings. This unexpected dip has left both the makers and fans disappointed. The film managed to secure ₹29.4 crore from Telugu markets, ₹9 crore from Hindi, ₹0.35 crore from Kerala, ₹1 crore from Tamil, and ₹0.25 crore from Malayalam.
Despite the setback, the makers remain hopeful about Sunday’s performance. With the weekend holiday, they anticipate a significant rise in earnings, potentially aiding the film in surpassing major box office records. However, the Saturday numbers have cast a shadow of doubt on the film’s future prospects.
“Devara,” a ₹300 crore budget film, has garnered positive response, with the story receiving praise. Nevertheless, the film’s overall performance will heavily depend on the crucial Sunday collections. The film has currently amassed a total of ₹122.5 crore at the box office.
