Fri Sep 27 21:04:40 UTC 2024: ## Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Under Investigation in Alleged MUDA Scam

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing intensified scrutiny following an FIR filed by the Lokayukta Police on Friday. The FIR pertains to an alleged Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, and the case accuses Siddaramaiah, his wife Parvathi, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and a landowner Devaraju of illegal land allocation.

This development comes two days after a special court in Bengaluru ordered the Lokayukta to initiate an investigation into the MUDA case. The FIR has been filed under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including charges of criminal misconduct, cheating, and criminal conspiracy.

The special court’s order was based on a High Court judgment upholding Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot’s decision to prosecute Siddaramaiah in the case. The court directed the Lokayukta police to investigate the matter and submit a report within 90 days.

Responding to the FIR, Siddaramaiah, in a post on X, maintained his innocence, stating that the case is politically motivated and will be fought according to the law. He expressed confidence in his legal defense, assuring that justice is on his side.
