**New York, NY** – Leica has announced the Q3 43, a new iteration of its highly acclaimed Q3 camera featuring a newly designed APO-Summicron 43mm f/2 ASPH lens. This new lens, coupled with the same full-frame sensor and advanced features of the original Q3, promises exceptional image quality and versatility.
The Q3 43 retains the impressive 60-megapixel sensor, ISO range of 50 to 100,000, and robust build, including IP52 water and dust resistance. However, the highlight of the camera is its new lens. Leica claims the 43mm focal length mirrors human vision, enabling realistic, distortion-free images ideal for street photography and portraiture.
The lens boasts an integrated macro mode, allowing for close-up shots between 26.5 and 60 centimeters. Additionally, the lens incorporates a leaf shutter, allowing flash synchronization at speeds up to 1/2000 second.
Leica emphasizes the exceptional performance of the lens, which features an apochromatically corrected optical design with four aspherical elements. The lens is constructed from 11 elements in eight groups, providing sharp, high-contrast images in various lighting conditions.
Externally, the Q3 43 differentiates itself with a grey leather finish, providing a distinct look from the original Q3’s black leather.
The Leica Q3 43 is available starting today at the Leica Online Store and retailers globally for $6,895, a premium over the original Q3’s $5,995 price tag. A new multifunction protector with integrated handgrip is also available for $250.
