Thu Sep 26 15:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Shamrock Rovers Suffer Injury Blow Ahead of Title Push and European Campaign

Shamrock Rovers face a tough period as key player Trevor Clarke is ruled out for two to three weeks with a calf injury, just as they enter a crucial stage of their season.

The news comes as a major blow for manager Stephen Bradley, whose team is battling for a fifth consecutive Premier Division title while also preparing for the start of their Conference League group stage campaign. Clarke’s absence will see him miss the next four games, including the vital Dublin derby against St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday.

However, there is some positive news. While defenders Sean Hoare and midfielder Aaron McEneff are sidelined for Friday’s match, they are expected to be fit for next week’s European opener against APOEL Nicosia. Striker Rory Gaffney, who has been out since April, is also set to return in mid-October.

Despite the injury concerns, Bradley remains confident in his team’s form, highlighting their recent strong performances and their determined mentality. “It’s important to keep the run we’re on going,” he stated, referencing their recent victory over Bohemians. “We’re in a really good place. We know what happened in Derry (controversial late penalty awarded), but other than that, I think we’ve been really good in performances.”

Rovers will face a stern test against St Patrick’s Athletic on Friday, who are currently on a three-game winning streak. With the title race tight and the European campaign starting, the pressure is on for Shamrock Rovers to overcome these challenges and maintain their winning momentum.
