**Mysuru, Karnataka:** Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has affirmed his willingness to cooperate with a Lokayukta police investigation into the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment case. This comes after a special court ordered the investigation following a complaint by RTI activist Snehamayi Krishna.
The court’s decision was based on a recent Karnataka High Court ruling upholding the Governor’s sanction for the investigation. The allegations center around the allotment of 14 sites to the Chief Minister’s wife, BM Parvathi, by MUDA.
“I am ready to face the investigation and continue the legal fight,” said Siddaramaiah in a statement. “There is no question of fearing an investigation; I am determined to face everything.” He added that he will decide on his next course of action after consulting with legal experts.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka BJP has called for Siddaramaiah’s immediate resignation, arguing that a free and fair investigation is impossible while he remains in office. BJP state president BY Vijayendra stated, “On moral grounds, he should resign from the chief minister’s post.” He also urged that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The special court has ordered the Lokayukta to submit a report within three months and directed the relevant authorities to file an FIR in the case. The development marks a significant setback for Siddaramaiah, who has been facing mounting pressure over the MUDA allegations.
