**Brooklyn, NY** – Oddly Specific Objects is launching a new version of their popular Sensor Watch project, dubbed Sensor Watch Pro, on Crowd Supply. This upgrade for the iconic Casio F-91W wristwatch promises to be even more hackable than its predecessors, featuring a powerful microcontroller, a host of new sensors, and a customizable LCD.
Sensor Watch Pro boasts an ultra-low-power ARM Cortex M0+ microcontroller, a brighter RGB LED, an infrared light sensor, and a louder piezo buzzer. The board also features a custom-fabricated metal spring connector, eliminating the need for soldering.
The highlight of this update is the introduction of a new accelerometer board add-on, allowing users to track motion and activity. This board includes the LIS2DW MEMS motion sensor, capable of measuring ranges from ±2 g to ±16 g and outputting data rates from 1.6 Hz to 1600 Hz. The sensor can also trigger wake-up events from low energy mode on motion detection.
In addition, Sensor Watch Pro comes with a new, larger LCD display featuring 92 segments, offering extended functionality for displaying text, dates, and other data.
The community-powered Sensor Watch firmware, called Movement, has been expanded with dozens of new watch faces, complications, utilities, and games. Users can easily customize their watch experience through the Sensor Watch Builder, which allows them to select their desired watch faces and download a compiled UF2 file.
“Sensor Watch Pro opens up a whole new world of possibilities for those who want to customize and hack their Casio F-91W,” says Oddly Specific Objects. “We are excited to see what the community comes up with.”
The campaign for Sensor Watch Pro is currently live on Crowd Supply. Orders placed now are expected to ship on March 15, 2025.
