**Mumbai, India:** Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar, known for his role as Ahmed in the iconic film *Sholay*, has made a surprising revelation. In a recent interview, he claimed that he and co-star Amjad Khan directed some crucial portions of the Ramesh Sippy classic.
Pilgaonkar, speaking to Kunal Vijaykar on his YouTube channel *Khane Mein Kya Hai*, explained that director Ramesh Sippy had formed a second unit to handle action sequences not featuring the main stars. This unit was headed by renowned stunt filmmaker Mohammed Ali and action director Azim, who brought in two Hollywood specialists, Jim and Jerry.
“Rameshji wanted two people to represent him because these people came from other countries,” Pilgaonkar said. “They wouldn’t understand the film, so he chose Amjad Khan and me. We were the ‘bekaar’ (useless) ones in the unit.”
According to Pilgaonkar, Sippy only directed scenes involving Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, and Sanjeev Kumar. The remaining scenes were handled by Pilgaonkar and Amjad Khan, who directed these portions.
