**Madrid, Spain** – A renowned ensemble cast has joined forces with Elle Fanning in “Rosebush Pruning”, the latest film from acclaimed director Karim Aïnouz (“Motel Destino”, “Firebrand”). The film, currently in production in Spain, boasts a stellar lineup including Callum Turner, Riley Keough, Jamie Bell, Lukas Gage, Tracy Letts, Elena Anaya, and Pamela Anderson.
The project, an adaptation of Marco Bellocchio’s 1965 landmark film “Fists in the Pocket”, is a darkly satirical exploration of family and social values. The script, penned by Efthimis Filippou (“The Killing of a Sacred Deer”), promises to challenge traditional notions of family dynamics and the patriarchy.
“I’m so excited to bring this audacious and delicious script to life,” Aïnouz shared, “with this brilliant ensemble of actors who I have long admired.”
The film’s production is a collaborative effort with financing from Mubi, The Apartment, Metafilms, Anna Films, and In Bloom. The Match Factory, handling worldwide sales, is also co-producing alongside The Apartment.
The film’s impressive creative team includes Oscar-nominated costume designer Bina Daigeler and frequent Aïnouz collaborator Hélène Louvart as director of photography.
“Rosebush Pruning” marks Mubi’s largest foray into production to date, demonstrating their continued commitment to supporting auteur filmmaking. The film is anticipated to be a major cinematic event, drawing in audiences with its compelling narrative, exceptional cast, and visionary directorial vision.
