**Mysuru:** A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) site allotment scam. The FIR was registered by the Lokayukta police on September 27, following a court order.
Siddaramaiah is named as the first accused in the case, with his wife BM Parvathi, brother-in-law Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju also facing charges. The case stems from allegations of irregularities in the allotment of 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife by MUDA.
The Lokayukta police investigation was ordered by a Special Court in Bengaluru on September 25, following an RTI activist’s complaint and a High Court order upholding the Governor’s sanction for the probe. The FIR includes charges of criminal conspiracy, public servant disobedience, dishonest misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, cheating, mischief, forgery, wrongful confinement, assault, and corruption under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and other relevant acts.
The Lokayukta police are now tasked with investigating the allegations and filing a report within three months. This development comes as a major setback for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who has denied any wrongdoing.
