Rising indie artist MJ Lenderman made his solo television debut on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The performance showcased his latest single, “Wristwatch,” a standout track from his recently released album “Manning Fireworks.”
Lenderman delivered a faithful rendition of the mid-tempo song, accompanied by backing harmonies from his bandmate Karly Hartzman, enchanting pedal steel, and a powerful guitar solo. The performance comes just a week before Lenderman embarks on his 2024 North American tour, which kicks off in Atlanta on October 3rd. He will then continue touring the US and Canada throughout October before heading to Europe. Lenderman has also announced a major North American tour for January 2025.
“Manning Fireworks,” Lenderman’s latest album, follows his critically acclaimed 2022 release “Boat Songs” and last year’s live album “And the Wind (Live and Loose).” The album is already receiving praise from music critics, with some even hailing “Wristwatch” as a Song of the Week.
