**Baltimore, MD -** Despite the enduring popularity of Spider-Man’s relationship with Mary Jane Watson, the couple’s on-again-off-again romance has been a source of frustration for fans. The iconic duo’s marriage, which was abruptly ended in 2007, remains a hot topic, even almost two decades later.

Marvel’s decision to break up Peter Parker and Mary Jane, a move driven by a deal with the devil Mephisto, sparked a widespread outcry amongst fans. The deal, which saw Peter and MJ sacrificing their marriage to save Aunt May’s life, ultimately erased their wedding from history.

Despite fans’ fervent desire to see the couple reunite, Marvel’s editorial mandates have kept Peter and Mary Jane from tying the knot. While Marvel acknowledges that a reunion could be in the cards, the current editorial policy prohibits the pair from getting married.

Tom Brevoort, a Marvel veteran and current X-Men editor, confirmed that the publisher has no plans to alter the status quo. “If you’re going to work on whatever character – if you’re going to work on Daredevil, you’re going to have to deal with the fact that he’s blind and he’s probably going to stay that way for a while,” Brevoort stated.

However, Marvel’s Editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski suggests that the policy might not be set in stone. “There’s no mandate that any character should or shouldn’t be married,” Cebulski said. “It’s just where the story takes us and what we think is the best for the creative team at the time.”
