Thu Sep 26 14:58:09 UTC 2024: ## Millar Weighs Superman and Marvel: A New Project Bigger Than “Civil War”?

Comic book legend Mark Millar, known for his work on both Marvel and DC titles, is hinting at a potential return to the House of Ideas with a project he claims could surpass even the impact of his own “Civil War” storyline.

Millar, who has recently been focused on his own Millarworld imprint and Netflix collaborations, revealed in a recent podcast interview that he’s been developing a “Superman” story for some time, even having a concept fully formed while on vacation. He’s also in talks with DC Comics to bring this project to fruition.

However, a chance meeting with Marvel’s Editor-in-Chief, C.B. Cebulski, has thrown a wrench in the works. Millar shared that he’s also been developing a massive Marvel project that he believes could top his own “Civil War” – the company’s best-selling graphic novel ever.

“I only want to do something at Marvel if I can make it bigger than Civil War or else what’s the point?” Millar stated. “I’m not going to come in and do an Iceman series or something like that.”

Millar’s decision is further complicated by the impending public domain status of Superman in nine years. This opens the door for him to tackle the character in a creator-owned capacity. But for now, the allure of a Marvel project with the potential to eclipse “Civil War” seems to hold more sway.

While he’s not leaving Millarworld behind, Millar is clearly excited by the possibilities of working on these new projects, adding that he has an “incredible” lineup of artists lined up for his upcoming Millarworld releases.

The comic book community is eagerly awaiting news on which project Millar chooses to pursue. His decision will undoubtedly have a significant impact on both the DC and Marvel universes.
