**New York, NY** – Tech journalist Kara Swisher, known for her podcasts “On With Kara Swisher” and “Pivot,” has made a bold claim: her podcast is more profitable than Elon Musk’s social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In the debut episode of “The Daily Beast Podcast,” Swisher revealed details about her lucrative career, including her high-profile departure from The New York Times. She shared that she earns significantly more from her independent ventures than she did from working with major media outlets.
“I can do math, right?” Swisher said, “And I don’t make as much money there. I make ten times as much as The New York Times. If I make them five million dollars, why are they getting, you know, four point eight, four point nine million of it?”
She explained her decision to leave The New York Times after using it as a platform to warn about the dangers of technology. “I was simply done being underpaid,” she said.
When asked about her thoughts on Elon Musk and X, Swisher was blunt. “As a business, it’s a nothing burger,” she said. “It’s less than a nothing burger. It’s a s—y little business, it just is. I’d have to look at their numbers, but I suspect even my podcast makes more money—is more profitable.”
Swisher further described X as a “rich man’s yacht,” but acknowledged the platform’s potential influence ahead of the upcoming election due to Musk’s wealth and notoriety. “He’s got money and means and he’s demented, right?” she said.
