**New York, NY** – Streaming platform Hulu has announced its seventh annual “Huluween” campaign, featuring actor Elvis Nolasco, known for his role in MGM+’s “Godfather of Harlem,” as the face of the spooky season festivities.
Nolasco will star in two Hulu original horror films, “Mr. Crocket” and “Carved,” premiering this fall. In “Mr. Crocket,” Nolasco plays a mysterious host of a popular ’90s TV show, while “Carved” follows a group of kids trapped in a historical reenactment village battling a sentient, evil pumpkin.
“We’re so excited to have Mr. Crocket and Carved as part of our Huluween celebration,” said Paloma Azulay, vice president of Hulu brand marketing. “Now in its seventh year, the popular Halloween campaign and content collections super-serve our subscribers.”
Nolasco, who is making his debut in the horror genre, was drawn to the roles for their unique characters and narratives. He is particularly proud to bring more Afro-Latino representation to the horror genre, where he believes the community has been underrepresented.
“I’m very proud of my heritage and my background,” Nolasco said. “I hope that others will embrace their own authenticity in whatever they do. It’s just very important for me to continue to highlight the Afro-Latino community.”
Both films are produced by WorthenBrooks, a company known for producing past Huluween features such as “Matriarch,” “Grimcutty,” and “Appendage,” as well as over eighty-five advertiser-financed horror shorts. WorthenBrooks emphasizes the importance of showcasing emerging talent and underrepresented voices.
“Mr. Crocket” will premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, this week, while both “Mr. Crocket” and “Carved” will be screened at Screen Fest in Los Angeles next month.
Huluween runs partly during Hispanic Heritage Month, making Nolasco’s involvement particularly meaningful. As the face of Huluween, Nolasco promises to bring a unique and spooky experience to viewers this fall.
