**PHILADELPHIA** – Former Penn State teammates Chris Godwin and Saquon Barkley have continued their success in the NFL, becoming star players for their respective teams. The two developed a strong bond and work ethic during their time at Penn State, pushing each other to achieve greatness.

“He was a pro before he was even a pro,” said Barkley, referencing Godwin’s dedication and professionalism. “He always carried himself and went to work. That’s probably the biggest thing I learned from him.”

Their impact was evident in the 2017 Rose Bowl, where both players showcased their talents, leading Penn State to a victory. Barkley rushed for 194 yards and two touchdowns, while Godwin had 187 receiving yards and two touchdowns, including a remarkable one-handed catch.

Since then, both players have continued to impress. Barkley is a three-time 1,000-yard rusher and former rookie of the year, while Godwin has four 1,000-yard receiving seasons in the last five years, playing a key role in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV victory.

Currently, Godwin is a vital part of the Buccaneers’ offense, averaging 84.3 yards per game, the second-highest of his career. Meanwhile, Barkley is carrying a banged-up Eagles offense, leading the NFL in rushing yards with 351 and showcasing his versatility as a receiver as well.

Despite their individual successes, both players maintain mutual respect and admiration for one another. “When he’s healthy, he’s one of the best wide receivers in the league because he’s super consistent,” said Barkley. “He’s Mr. Reliable. He’s been like that since college.”

Their journey from Penn State to the NFL is a testament to their talent, dedication, and the strong foundation they built together. Their success continues to inspire both their teams and fans across the country.
