Legendary rock singer Ann Wilson, frontwoman of the iconic band Heart, has announced she is cancer-free following a grueling chemotherapy treatment. Wilson, 74, revealed the news on Wednesday, confirming she is now ready to resume her rescheduled tour in 2025.
“I’m doing absolutely fine now,” Wilson shared in an audio message, acknowledging the emotional and physical toll of chemotherapy. “The worst is over,” she added, expressing gratitude for the effectiveness of the treatment and emphasizing the importance of early detection. “My story has a happy ending due in part to early detection. My advice? Get checked regularly.”
Wilson’s cancer journey began in July when she underwent surgery and was subsequently advised to undergo preventive chemotherapy. This led to the postponement of Heart’s 2023 tour, which included over 50 shows across North America.
The “Barracuda” singer, known for her powerful vocals and iconic rock anthems, will now resume the tour in February 2025, starting in Las Vegas and concluding in Quebec, Canada. Heart fans will finally have the chance to witness the legendary duo back on stage after months of anticipation.
Wilson, along with her sister and bandmate Nancy Wilson, formed Heart in 1973, becoming one of the most successful and influential rock bands of all time. The group, known for hits like “Crazy on You”, “Magic Man”, and “Alone”, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
