**POKHARA, Nepal (Khabarhub) -** Dhaka Kumar Shrestha, a former Member of Parliament for the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has been released on bail after being accused of selling prohibited drugs. Shrestha was arrested on Bhadra 27 and was released on Thursday after posting a bail bond of NPR 75,000.
The arrest stemmed from the confession of Prakash Thapa, a 42-year-old man from Pokhara, who was apprehended with 97 tablets of illegal narcotics. During questioning, Thapa revealed that he had purchased the drugs from Shrestha’s Diya Pharmacy located in Pokhara.
This incident has drawn significant attention as it involves a former politician and raises concerns about the prevalence of drug trafficking in Nepal.
