Thu Sep 26 14:54:52 UTC 2024: ## Preston Striker Faces Suspension for Alleged Biting Incident

Preston North End striker Milutin Osmajic is facing potential suspension after being charged by the Football Association for allegedly biting Blackburn Rovers defender Owen Beck during their Championship match last Sunday. The incident occurred in the 89th minute, shortly after Beck was red-carded for a challenge on Osmajic.

Following an investigation, the FA issued a statement alleging Osmajic committed an act of violent conduct by biting Beck. The striker has until September 30th to respond to the charges before a potential suspension is announced.

Blackburn manager Jon Eustace confirmed Beck sustained a bite mark on his neck and expressed disappointment that the referee did not witness the incident.

“He’s shown all the lads. He’s very disappointed to be sent off, but obviously he doesn’t want to have that on the back of his neck as well,” Eustace stated. “He’s a little bit quiet, a little bit shook up.”

Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom condemned the alleged incident, stating, “All I can say is that there’s no place for [biting].”

The incident highlights the potential range of punishment for biting in football, with previous cases ranging from a four-month ban for Luis Suarez’s bite on Giorgio Chiellini to a six-month ban for Joss Labadie. The FA will assess the severity of Osmajic’s potential punishment once they receive his response.

The heated match ended with both teams finishing with 10 men, but the controversy surrounding the alleged biting incident remains a hot topic in the football world.
