**Nagpur, India (September 26, 2024):** The initial public offering (IPO) of Diffusion Engineers, a leading manufacturer of welding consumables and heavy machinery, witnessed an overwhelming response from investors on its first day of bidding. The issue, which opened on Thursday, September 26, was fully subscribed within just one hour, indicating strong investor confidence in the company’s future prospects.

The IPO, which aims to raise Rs 158 crore, received bids for 3,19,47,432 equity shares, representing a 4.84 times oversubscription compared to the 65,98,500 equity shares offered for subscription.

Retail investors were particularly enthusiastic, with their allocation subscribed 7.94 times. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) also showed strong interest, with a subscription of 3.81 times. Notably, employee bids were booked 12.52 times, while the Qualified Institutional Bidders (QIBs) portion was yet to receive any bids.

“The strong response to our IPO reflects the confidence investors have in Diffusion Engineers’ business model and growth potential,” said a spokesperson for the company.

Analysts have attributed the robust demand to the company’s strong financial performance, expansion plans, and dominance in the market. The company’s strategic move into manufacturing nickel, cobalt, and iron-based powders, aimed at reducing import dependence and boosting profitability, has further attracted investor interest.

Diffusion Engineers is expected to list on the BSE and NSE on October 4, 2024. The grey market premium (GMP) currently stands at Rs 80, hinting at a potential listing pop of around 48% for investors.

Several brokerage firms have recommended subscribing to the IPO for long-term gains, citing the company’s consistent growth, reasonable valuations, and focus on backward integration and product diversification. However, they also highlighted potential concerns such as reliance on Indian clients, potential delays in setting up facilities, and the approval-driven nature of the business.
