**Mumbai, India** – Jr NTR, the charismatic star of the blockbuster “RRR,” returns to the big screen in “Devara: Part 1,” an action-packed drama that promises a captivating story of brotherhood, betrayal, and redemption.
The film kicks off with a compelling premise: a group of villagers, led by the enigmatic Devara (Jr NTR) and his close friend Bhairava (Saif Ali Khan), engage in a life of smuggling, but their paths diverge when Devara discovers the cargo is intended for terrorist activities.
The first half of “Devara: Part 1” establishes a thrilling narrative with impressive action sequences and a compelling exploration of contrasting ideals. However, the film struggles with a predictable plot and some underwhelming VFX elements.
While Jr. NTR delivers a captivating performance, oscillating between vulnerability and ferocity, Saif Ali Khan steals the show as the menacing antagonist. Janhvi Kapoor, however, is unfortunately underutilized in her role.
“Devara: Part 1” boasts stunning coastal settings and a vibrant soundtrack, featuring catchy songs like “Daavudi” and “Ayudha Pooja.” However, the film’s excessive length (2 hours and 57 minutes) and a somewhat predictable plot detract from the overall experience.
Despite its shortcomings, “Devara: Part 1” still delivers a thrilling entertainment experience, offering a blend of action, drama, and emotional depth. While it may not reach the epic heights of “RRR,” it stands as a decent big event film that will likely satisfy fans of Jr. NTR and action-packed dramas.
