Fri Sep 27 17:39:46 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Calls for Urgent Road Repairs in Delhi, Blames Political Opponents for Neglect

**New Delhi:** Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has urged Chief Minister Atishi to immediately address the deteriorating condition of roads in the city. Following a series of inspections with Atishi on Friday, Kejriwal wrote a letter highlighting the poor state of roads and blamed the political opposition for their neglect.

Kejriwal, who was recently arrested by the Delhi Police, claims that the arrest was a politically motivated attempt to cripple the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and disrupt its operations. He alleges that the opposition aimed to cause widespread inconvenience to Delhi residents for political gain.

“I was shocked when I was arrested and the opposition laughed, saying they had ‘derailed’ the Delhi government and brought it to a standstill. Their motive was clearly to disrupt our work and create a bad image of the AAP government ahead of the elections,” Kejriwal wrote.

He emphasized the AAP’s commitment to public service and the need to prioritize the well-being of Delhi residents. “We will work tirelessly to address the problems faced by the people, especially the roads that have been damaged due to heavy rainfall,” he added.

Kejriwal instructed Atishi to conduct a thorough assessment of the roads requiring repair and to mobilize ministers and MLAs to oversee the repair work. “We must work day and night to finish all the pending projects and solve the problems of Delhi residents. I am here now, and I will not let the people suffer,” he asserted.

The AAP government has vowed to undertake a swift and comprehensive road repair project, aiming to ensure better infrastructure and alleviate the difficulties faced by commuters.
