Thu Sep 26 13:00:00 UTC 2024: ## Audius Music Marketplace Expands, Empowering Artists with Direct Fan Payments

**LAS VEGAS, Sept. 26, 2024** – Audius, the decentralized music platform, has announced the expansion of its music marketplace, empowering artists to directly monetize their work through fan payments. This groundbreaking feature, previously in private beta, is now open to all artists globally.

Through the Audius marketplace, artists can set their own prices for their music and receive direct payments from fans using credit cards. These payments are made in USDC, a stablecoin, which artists can then convert to any currency of their choice.

This move marks a significant shift in the music industry, giving artists control over their earnings and fostering a more direct relationship with their fans. Audius also introduces a new revenue stream for the platform, with 10% of every payment going to the Audius community treasury, which will be managed through on-chain governance.

“Artists have been incredibly creative in leveraging the marketplace,” said Audius Co-Founder and CEO Roneil Rumburg. “From selling downloads to unique contests, they’re building new revenue streams and engaging directly with their fans.”

Several artists have already embraced the marketplace, including producer Kato On The Track, who has used the platform to sell downloads and generate new revenue, and rapper MadeinTYO, who hosted a beat-making competition, offering a winner a studio session in Tokyo.

“Audius allows me to create unique ways to interact with my fans and keep the music first,” said MadeinTYO.

The platform has also attracted the attention of independent record labels and distributors like DistroKid, EMPIRE, and Kobalt, recognizing the opportunity for artists to reach new audiences and earn more.

With its focus on decentralization and direct artist-fan interaction, Audius is paving the way for a new music economy, one that empowers artists and fosters a more transparent and equitable system.
