Fri Sep 27 17:45:18 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Challenges RSS Chief Bhagwat Over BJP’s Inclusion of Allegedly Corrupt Leaders

**New Delhi:** Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has posed a series of questions to Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, questioning the RSS’s stance on the BJP’s inclusion of leaders facing corruption allegations.

Kejriwal, in a letter to Bhagwat, referred to the BJP’s recruitment of several individuals previously accused of corruption, who were allegedly pressured into joining through the use of investigative agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He questioned Bhagwat’s satisfaction with this strategy, highlighting the hypocrisy of the BJP’s stance on corruption.

Kejriwal also pointed out the BJP’s shifting position on Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, whom they had labelled as corrupt in 2015 before welcoming him into the party a month later. He termed these leaders as “Modi’s 25 Jewels”, sarcastically highlighting the contradiction between their earlier accusations and their subsequent inclusion in the BJP.

Kejriwal further criticized the BJP’s treatment of RSS cadres, claiming they are relegated to merely laying the red carpet for politicians from other parties who switch allegiances to the BJP. He highlighted the lack of opportunities for RSS members within the party, suggesting their role has been reduced to merely facilitating political conversions.

Kejriwal’s statement comes just days after he resigned from the Chief Ministership of Delhi following his release on bail in a CBI probe related to the alleged Delhi liquor scam. He has been replaced by Atishi Marlena as the new Chief Minister of the national capital.
