**Chennai, September 26, 2024:** Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman today slammed the DMK for calling the release of former Minister Senthil Balaji on bail a “sacrifice,” accusing the party of double standards and hypocrisy.
“In our country, everything is a sensation – sweets, dessert, even bail,” said Seeman, adding that the DMK’s praise of Balaji’s release as a “sacrifice” was “ridiculous.”
Seeman pointed out that the DMK had initiated the case against Balaji during the AIADMK regime, and it was the DMK that had put him behind bars. “Now, they are hailing his release as a noble act of sacrifice,” he said.
“If it’s a sacrifice when you’re in the DMK, does it become a corruption charge when you are in another party?” Seeman questioned, emphasizing the DMK’s selective application of moral values.
Seeman also ridiculed the DMK’s praise of Balaji’s “sacrifice,” comparing it to the real sacrifices made by freedom fighters who endured imprisonment and death for the country’s freedom. He called the current trend of glorifying actions like illegal sand mining, illicit liquor brewing, and corruption as “sacrifice” a mockery of real heroism.
“The DMK will likely reinstate Balaji as a minister since there are no legal obstacles,” said Seeman, further alleging that the party rewards those who maximize their corrupt practices. He emphasized that the DMK only values those who “collect and pay bribes,” and that this attitude is a sign of their true priorities.
