**Miami, FL and Las Vegas, NV -** Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump will be engaging with Latino voters next month in separate town-hall-style events hosted by Univision, the leading Spanish-language media network in the U.S.
The events, scheduled for October 8th (Trump in Miami) and October 10th (Harris in Las Vegas), will be moderated by Univision journalist Enrique Acevedo. Both candidates will face questions about their policies and how they relate to the concerns of Latino voters.
With over 36 million Hispanic eligible voters in the U.S., the Latino community represents the largest minority group in the country, holding significant influence in the upcoming presidential election. “There are more than 36 million Hispanics eligible to vote in the U.S., making them the largest minority in the country, with the power to influence the outcome of the race for the White House and the future of the nation,” said Daniel Coronell, president of Noticias Univision.
This development comes amidst ongoing negotiations for a second presidential debate after Harris’s strong performance at their first meeting earlier this month. Both candidates have expressed an interest in reaching out to voters through more individualized settings.
While the two candidates have yet to agree on a second debate, they are both scheduled to participate in separate interviews with “60 Minutes” to air back-to-back next month. Additionally, their running mates, Democratic Gov. Tim Walz (Minn.) and Republican Sen. JD Vance (Ohio), are scheduled to face off on October 1st in Minneapolis.
These events highlight the significant role that Latino voters will play in the upcoming election and the growing importance of reaching out to diverse communities.
