**London, UK** – Leyton, an East London neighborhood known for its vibrant food scene, lively nightlife, and growing community, has been named London’s Coolest Neighborhood for 2024 by Time Out.
The neighborhood secured the 24th spot on Time Out’s global list of Coolest Neighborhoods, ranking above Dublin’s Inchicore and Buenos Aires’s Chacarita. The ranking, compiled by Time Out’s global team of writers and editors, takes into account factors like food, drink, arts, culture, street life, and community.
Time Out contributor Matt Blake praised Leyton’s “growing food scene,” “lively nightlife,” and “wealth of proper boozers.” He also highlighted Francis Road as the area’s “main drag” and commended the neighborhood’s “gorgeous hidden green gems,” including parks and community gardens.
Blake noted a recent influx of young, middle-income families who have brought a “quiet breath of new life” to the area, further enhancing its identity.
Leyton joins previous London winners King’s Cross (2023) and Walthamstow (2022) as the latest neighborhood to be recognized for its cool factor.
The top spot on the global list went to Marseille’s Notre-Dame-du-Mont, while Mers Sultan in Casablanca came in second. Bristol’s Stokes Croft and St Paul’s secured the highest UK ranking at sixth place.
