**East Ayrshire, Scotland** – A mother and her six-year-old daughter were tragically killed in a single-car crash on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred on the A76 near the B713 junction between Catrine and Auchinleck, involving a VW Passat.
Police confirmed the victims as 32-year-old Rebecca Hill, the driver, and her daughter Arianna Aliu. Emergency services responded to the scene at approximately 5:00 PM, but sadly, Arianna was pronounced dead at the scene. Rebecca was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where she succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.
Inspector Kenny Malaney of Police Scotland expressed condolences to the family and thanked those who stopped to offer assistance. “Our thoughts are with the everyone affected by this tragic incident at this extremely difficult time,” he said.
The road was closed for roughly seven hours while accident investigators conducted their examination. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the crash or anyone with information to come forward. “Extensive inquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened,” Inspector Malaney added. “We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the crash, or may have been in the area at the time, to contact us.”
