
Wed Sep 25 07:34:00 UTC 2024: ## Sibling Suspect Arrested in Sitiawan House Fire Death
**IPOH** – A house fire in Sitiawan, Perak, on Wednesday morning has turned into a murder investigation after police arrested a suspect believed to have deliberately set the blaze.
Manjung police chief ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman confirmed the arrest of a 39-year-old man, identified as the victim’s sibling. The suspect was apprehended near the scene after a witness reported seeing him enter the house before hearing loud noises from the living room. The witness then saw the suspect leave and return with two containers, believed to be filled with petrol. He then fled the scene shortly before the fire broke out.
The victim’s body was sent to Hospital Permaisuri Raja Bainun in Ipoh for a postmortem examination. Following the witness statement and evidence, police have classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
