**Hatton, Warwickshire** – Northleigh House School, a therapeutic school for children who have experienced bullying, anxiety, and other difficulties, is holding a charity postcard auction featuring artwork donated by celebrities and renowned artists.
The auction, which runs until October 6th, features a unique collection of 90 signed postcards. Among the contributors are Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, who penned an inspirational message, and artist Sir Grayson Perry, who created a drawing of a queen and a cat. Other notable participants include designer Patrick Grant and artists Patrick Hughes and David Wightman.
The school, founded in 2012 by Viv Morgan and her late husband, aims to raise funds to support existing students and expand to a second site nearby. The auction is being run by Gildings Auctioneers, who have waived their fees for the charity event.
“All of us at Northleigh are so excited about our postcard auction,” said Ms. Morgan, who was awarded an MBE for her work in education in 2019. “The funds raised will help us to continue to champion our existing students every day.”
The auction features a variety of artistic styles and includes pieces from the world of children’s books, including drawings by Winnie and Wilbur illustrator Korky Paul. Lots start at £10, but some have higher guide prices, with estimates ranging from £50 to £1,000.
The school currently supports 36 students but has taught over 170 secondary-aged pupils over the years, providing GCSEs and A-levels, as well as lessons in nature and photography. The expansion to a second site will enable the school to continue equipping children with the skills they need to succeed in the outside world.
The school’s head of art, Aysha Cook, expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming response to the auction, highlighting the generosity of the artists and the community’s support for the school’s mission.
