Wed Sep 25 09:25:32 UTC 2024: ## Reddit Expands Reach with AI-Powered Translations for More Than 35 New Languages

**SAN FRANCISCO** – Reddit is making its platform more accessible to a global audience by introducing machine learning-powered translations for over 35 new languages. This move comes nearly five months after the platform first introduced site-wide translation for French speakers.

The new feature allows users to automatically translate posts and comments from the community’s original language into their own language, based on their Reddit settings. This means conversations can flow seamlessly even when participants are speaking different languages. Users will see a new “translate” icon in their menu to access this feature.

Reddit is expanding its translation service to include Brazil and Spain immediately, with plans to add Germany, Italy, the Philippines, and other Latin American markets in the coming weeks. The company does not yet provide a full list of all supported languages.

This move comes after Reddit’s successful public debut last year and its ongoing efforts to increase user base and ad revenue. By making all content available in more languages, Reddit hopes to attract a wider international audience.

“We’re excited to make Reddit more accessible to users around the world,” said a Reddit spokesperson. “This is a significant step in our mission to connect people from all backgrounds and languages.”

Reddit’s AI-powered translations will also be indexed by search engines, allowing people searching for information in their own language to find results from Reddit. This further enhances the platform’s discoverability and accessibility.
