Renowned rapper Fatman Scoop, known for his energetic performances and signature “Yeah!” catchphrase, passed away on August 30th at the age of 53. The Connecticut Medical Examiner’s Office ruled his death as “natural,” attributing it to hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Scoop, born Isaac Freeman III, collapsed on stage during a performance in Connecticut. Videos of the incident went viral, showing him hyping up the crowd moments before the collapse. Concerned concertgoers and paramedics rushed to his aid, administering CPR before he was transported to the hospital.

Scoop’s family and tour manager, Birch Michael, confirmed his passing in heartfelt social media posts. “The world lost a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life,” the family wrote on his Instagram. Michael described Scoop as “the man I am today” and expressed gratitude for his mentorship.

Scoop’s career spanned over two decades, beginning with the 1999 hit “Be Faithful” which achieved greater success in Europe with its 2003 re-release. He also appeared on UK television programs like “Chancers” and “Celebrity Big Brother.”

His most notable collaboration came in 2005, when he featured on Elliott’s chart-topping summer anthem “Lose Control” alongside Ciara. The track won a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video. Scoop went on to collaborate with other major artists including Mariah Carey, Timbaland, David Guetta, and Skrillex.
