Wed Sep 25 04:45:48 UTC 2024: ## Prachanda’s Secretary Denies Mishra’s Claims of Meeting Agreement

**Kathmandu, September 25, 2024:** Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda,” Chairman of the Maoist Center, has dismissed remarks made by Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) leader Rabindra Mishra regarding their recent meeting, asserting that Mishra’s claims are fabricated.

Ramesh Malla, Prachanda’s personal secretary, stated that there is no truth to Mishra’s claims, which were posted on Facebook following their meeting on Tuesday. Mishra suggested a dialogue with Prachanda, outlining seven key points from the conversation.

Malla clarified that Prachanda did not agree with Mishra’s opinions but acknowledged the need for reflection, emphasizing the importance of stability amidst turmoil. He stressed that Mishra’s Facebook post misrepresented Prachanda’s views, particularly his commitment to the federal democratic republic, established after a long struggle for peace and a new constitution.

Mishra, on the other hand, asserted that Nepal is on the brink of chaos and that restoring the monarchy is crucial to preventing this. He claimed that Prachanda acknowledged the positive aspects of the Panchayat era and viewed King Mahendra as a visionary.

Prachanda’s secretary emphasized that the former Prime Minister is committed to guiding Nepal towards socialism through good governance, social justice, and prosperity, questioning whether some remain nostalgic for the autocratic Panchayat and monarchical systems that led to the country’s decline.

The contrasting statements highlight the ongoing debate surrounding Nepal’s political future, with differing views on the role of the monarchy and the path towards prosperity.
