**Reading, PA** – The Reading Eagle has announced new guidelines for submitting obituaries. While most obituaries are submitted through funeral homes and cremation services, the newspaper now accepts submissions directly from families.
Families can email their obituary to obituaries@readingeagle.com, including a Word or Google document with the text, any desired photographs, and a verification of death, such as a funeral home phone number, cremation service information, or a picture of the death certificate.
The Reading Eagle also requires the submitter’s full name, phone number, and address. Payment for family-submitted obituaries must be made by credit card, and a proof of the completed obituary will be sent before payment is required. The obituary will not be published until payment is received in full.
Obituaries can be submitted for any future date, but must be received no later than 3:00 p.m. the day prior to its intended publication date. For pricing information, please call the obituary desk at 610-371-5018.
