Wed Sep 25 08:00:58 UTC 2024: ## Norwegian Police Probe Possible Link Between Local Company and Hezbollah Pagers
**Oslo, Norway** – Norwegian security police (PST) have launched a preliminary investigation into reports that a Norwegian-owned company may have been involved in the sale of pagers to the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah. The investigation comes after thousands of pagers used by Hezbollah operatives exploded last week, killing at least 39 people and injuring thousands.
While Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the attacks, suspicion has fallen on the company, potentially implicated in the supply chain that enabled the remote detonation of the pagers. This investigation follows similar probes in Taiwan, Hungary, and Bulgaria, all looking into possible links in the supply chain.
The PST investigation centers around allegations that a Norwegian-owned company may have supplied the pagers to Hezbollah. While the police have no specific suspicions at this time, they will examine the media reports and determine if a full investigation is warranted.
One company under scrutiny is Sofia-based Norta Global Ltd, founded in 2022 by Norwegian citizen Rinson Jose. Bulgarian authorities are investigating the company after a Hungarian media report linked it to the pagers. Documents reviewed by Reuters show that Jose signed Norta Global’s articles of association at the Bulgarian consulate in Oslo.
When contacted, Jose declined to comment on the pagers and hung up when asked about his Bulgarian business. Attempts to reach him have been unsuccessful since.
While Jose’s Linkedin profile shows he has been employed by DN Media Group since 2020, there is no evidence linking Norta Global to the media company. DN Media Group confirmed that Jose worked in their sales department and left for a conference in Boston on September 17th. The last contact from Jose to his colleagues was an email on September 18th, and his employer has been unable to reach him since.
