**Oslo, Norway** – Norwegian security police (PST) have launched a preliminary investigation into a Norwegian-owned company’s alleged involvement in supplying pagers to Hezbollah, the Lebanese militant group. The investigation follows reports that the pagers, which exploded last week in Lebanon, killing 39 and injuring thousands, may have originated from a Norwegian company.
Last week, thousands of pagers and walkie-talkies used by Hezbollah operatives detonated in Lebanon. While Israel has not confirmed or denied involvement, the attacks are widely believed to have been carried out by the Israeli government. The method of weaponizing the pagers to allow remote detonation remains unclear.
The PST investigation is focused on determining whether there is sufficient evidence to launch a full investigation based on media allegations.
This is not the only investigation related to the pagers. Taiwan, Hungary, and Bulgaria are already examining potential links in the supply chain.
Bulgarian authorities are investigating Sofia-based company Norta Global Ltd after a Hungarian media report linked it to the sale of the pagers. The company, founded in 2022 by Norwegian citizen Rinson Jose, has drawn attention due to its connection to the alleged supply chain.
Despite repeated attempts to reach Jose, he has not responded to inquiries about the pagers or his Bulgarian business. He is currently unreachable and his employer, DN Media Group, has confirmed they have been unable to contact him since September 18th.
The investigation into Norta Global and its potential link to the Hezbollah pagers is ongoing. The Norwegian police are determined to uncover the truth behind this incident, with global implications for security and intelligence agencies.
